Praise be to God, and may God’s prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God.
Allah has honored some places over others, distinguished them from others, and given them a virtue that surpasses the virtue of some other places. The best of them all is Mecca, then Medina, then what came in the texts explaining its virtue. Among these places that came in the texts with its virtue is “Al-Sham.” Allah made it blessed, as He, the Most High, said: {Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose precincts We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing . } [Al-Isra’: 1] The Levant is the abode and place of the prophets, and the place of their migration, starting with Abraham, peace be upon him. God Almighty said: { And We saved him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds} [Al-Anbiya: 71] and He said: {And to Solomon We subjected the wind, blowing by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are Knowing of all things} [Al-Anbiya: 81] In addition, it is the place where their qiblah (direction of prayer) was turned toward the Kaaba, may God Almighty honor it, and many proofs indicate the virtue of the Levant; It is from the Sunnah that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “A group of my nation will continue to be victorious over the truth, and they will not be harmed by those who oppose them or those who abandon them until the Hour comes.” Narrated by Ahmad. In one narration it says: “And they are in the Levant,” and in another it says: “And they are in the vicinity of Jerusalem.”
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Blessed is Ash-Sham.” We said: “For what reason, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Because the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over it.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani.
And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that in Syria is the land of gathering and resurrection.
Among its virtues: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If the people of Ash-Sham become corrupt, there is no good in you. A group of my nation will continue to be victorious, and those who abandon them will not harm them until the Hour comes.” Narrated by Ahmad, authenticated by Al-Albani.
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said that the Levant is a place where one can be protected from tribulations.
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “I saw as if the pillar of the Book was pulled out from beneath me, so I followed it with my eyes and looked. It was a bright light that was directed towards the Levant. Beware, when tribulations occur in the Levant, faith will prevail.” [Al-Albani, Sahih] And by God, this is a virtue that no other virtue can equal.
Among the virtues of the people of the Levant is their fight – along with Jesus, son of Mary – against the Antichrist. The Levant is the land of the epic battle with the Jews, and history has proven that the Levant is the homeland of pride and victory for the religion of God Almighty throughout the ages. In it, God destroyed the Tatars and wiped out the greenery of the Crusades.
The people of the Levant have suffered from killing and torture in a manner that reflects the extent of the brutality fueled by rotten sectarian strife. However, God’s command is effective, and His law, by which He favored those lands, has made them refuse to be subjected to the yoke of the Safavid Zoroastrian regime. Praise be to God for His grace and benevolence. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
